Our Story

Established in 1984, The Stage Door Steakhouse Restaurant has been a firm fixture of Wimbledon Broadway for four decades. The family-run business owes its longevity to Andreas Pilalis, who opened the premises 12 years after running the Las Vegas Steakhouse a few doors down.

Born in Leonarisso, Cyprus, Andreas moved to the UK in 1966, eventually settling in Wimbledon. Having worked in hospitality from the age of 15, he understood that the key to a successful restaurant was exceptional, hand-picked ingredients. Every weekend, he would travel to Billingsgate and Smithfield markets at 1 a.m. to select the freshest produce and finest cuts of meat.
Together with his wife Eleni, brother Orthodoxos, and sons Zac and Soto, Andreas built a restaurant celebrated for its prime steaks, traditional Greek dishes, and Mediterranean cuisine, serving customers with passion and dedication.
Although Andreas sadly passed away in 2020, his family continues his legacy, maintaining the high standards, warm hospitality, and love for authentic flavours that have made Stage Door Steakhouse a Wimbledon favourite for generations.
